St John's Garden Club
The Garden Club at St John's was started at Crystal Dunn's suggestion about 10 years ago, due to the extensive nature of the grounds. Previously, a person had been employed to mow lawns & do heavy pruning, and a number of parishioners especially spent hours working in it, and planted many of the lovely plants we now have.As these people got older and less able to do the work, the grounds were beginning to look a little sad, hence the formation of the club.
It meets on the last Saturday of each month, and many people have a section they are responsible for, hence "Kay's garden" etc. If some specific need arises, such as a major attack on a particularly out of control area, we will all concentrate on that area.
We also enjoy a period of fellowship and prayer together at morning tea time. New members are always welcome

St John's Friday Morning Group
Each Friday morning during term times, this group gathers at 10 am for fellowship over morning tea, before spending time in prayer, for each other, the church, and any pressing needs of the world in general.
Following this, they gather for study of a chosen passage of the Bible to discuss it's relevance to every day life and to seek guidance in their service for the Lord.
Members have found outlets for service in the choir, the garden club, assisting in church services, visiting nursing homes, and helping at Olympic Village Pre-School.
A welcome awaits anyone who would like to join our group.

St John's Ladies' Fellowship
The Ladies' Fellowship meets in the Parish Centre of St John's Anglican Church in the afternoon or evening of every fourth Wednesday of the month commencing in February and closing for a two-month break in November, when a Christmas break-up meal is celebrated.
Membership is open to all interested ladies.
Each month during the year there is a variety of interesting speakers covering a diverse range of subjects.
The ladies of the fellowship, which started up many years ago as the Young Wives group (many of whom are now grandmothers) do a great deal of work during the year for the church, including the provision of first class catering services for church functions, provision of teas at the annual fete, meal provision at Open House, Ivanhoe, as well as individual service by many of its members in all sorts of areas.
A small committee including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, elected at the Annual Meeting each October, ensures the smooth running of this long-running group.

St Andrew's Mothers' Union
The Mothers' Union was established to enable women to meet together to share concerns for family life, support each other and pray for their families.
Members throughout the world are linked in daily intercession known as the Wave of Prayer, and as well have a Telephone Prayer Ministry.
Fundamentally Mothers' Union is a network of parish groups. The impact on family life has always depended on the caring fellowship of the parish branch and the faithful witness of individual members, together with the support and encouragement of the parish clergy.
There is regular contact with house-bound members by correspondence through the Intercessory Prayer Circle at Easter, Pentecost and Christmas, as well as contact by Friends of IPC through Branch groups.
Caritas began in Melbourne in 1980 to provide contact and an entry point for people without connections to church. It is open to anyone interested. The by-line of Caritas is "Friendship in Action", and this explains the work of the groups.

St Andrew's Mah Jong Club
This group was the idea of Mrs. Jenny Rowntree, and she and her husband David taught us the rudiments of the game. We meet every Friday afternoon in the Fellowship Hall at St. Andrew's. Cost for the afternoon (incl. Afternoon Tea) is only $5.00, and new members would be most welcome.
